Skills
Leveraging your technical expertise and proven skills, you'll support our clients by offering sound statutory and strategic urban planning advice and insights. As a Senior Consultant within our NSW Planning team, every day is different! You'll make an impact by:
Contributing to multidisciplinary projects, working collaboratively with our inhouse economists, heritage planners, urban designers, social planners and transport plannersProviding a range of services including advice relating to land use, development capability, due diligence assessments, master plans, the approval process and managementDeveloping client relationships by building trust, providing quality advice and managing expectationsWriting submissions, proposals and advice that accurately reflects the client's needManaging small to medium size projects, including scoping and costing of projects, tracking job costs and coordinating consultants and sub-consultants as neededIdentifying and raise issues which may impact fee estimates or timelines.Coaching and develop team membersContributing to the development and implementation of quality assurance and support the Planning team's Business Plan

Holds tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Town Planning or a related disciplineIdeally minimum 5 years' experience in Urban PlanningIdeally some experience in managing planning projectsStrong knowledge of statutory and strategic planning, and related legislation, ideally gained in a consultancy or local/State government environmentKeen understanding of impacts and issues affecting land use and developmentA collaborative mindset, to bring out the best in yourself and others while bringing new thinking to Urbis and our clientsPassion for purpose-led work, and driving a positive legacy for our communities, clients and yourselfAuthenticity to foster respect, trust and advocacy in all your work interactionsConfidence and decisiveness to drive high performance for yourself, others and our clientsInnovation and creativity when solving complex problemsA digitally curious mindset, that is keen to explore how technology can contribute to our experience and efficiency
