About the role
Bretts is a well-established Queensland business with a strong reputation and a genuine focus on people, safety and performance. We have been a mainstay of the Brisbane building industry for over 108 years with 6 major divisions and over 300 staff in 10 locations.
We’re looking for a communication professional who loves crafting engaging content, organising events, and keeping people connected.
About the Role
As our Communications Coordinator, you’ll be the voice of our internal team. You will play a hands-on role in shaping our company culture and keeping our team informed.
Key Responsibilities
Format & Design: Craft engaging internal announcements and presentations.
Gather Content: Chat with different teams across the business to collect photos, news, and team highlights.
Event Support: Help plan and execute internal events and team-building activities.
Manage Channels: Keep our internal social platforms and comms calendar updated and organised.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you will need:
The Tech Basics: Solid proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Suite, and Google Suite.
Top-notch written and verbal communication: You have a knack for tone, clarity, and proofreading.
Energy & Initiative: A proactive attitude and a genuine interest in people, workplace culture, or HR.
Education/Background: Studying toward or holding a qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (advantageous).
Licence: A current QLD Driver’s Licence (Class C).
Bonus points if you have experience in the building, construction, trade, or manufacturing sectors—but don't worry if you don't, we'll teach you the ropes!
Why Join Bretts?
Flexibility: Great part-time hours (24–30 hrs/week) that can work around university schedules or life commitments.
Perks & Discounts: Staff discounts and access to our Employee Benefit Program.
Growth Opportunity: Work closely with leadership, build your portfolio, and gain valuable experience in HR & Internal Comms.
Supportive Environment: A friendly work environment and a team culture that values its people.
Real Impact: Your work directly influences company culture every day.
