Team members work in a supportive environment that values dignity, inclusion, and continuity of cultural identity for all residents.Role Description The Maintenance Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Ridleyton Greek Home in Brompton. This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility, including buildings, grounds, and equipment, to support a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Typical duties include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, addressing work orders and urgent repairs, coordinating with external contractors when required, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Officer will monitor building systems (such as electrical and basic mechanical components), maintain tools and supplies, and keep accurate records of maintenance activities. The role also involves clear communication with the care team and residents, responding courteously to maintenance requests, and contributing to continuous improvement of the facility’s infrastructure.QualificationsAbility to perform Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair across building, grounds, and facility assets.Experience with Corrective Maintenance, including diagnosing faults and implementing timely repairs.Basic knowledge of Electricity and building systems, with a commitment to safe work practices.Strong Communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, staff, and external service providers.Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, working in a culturally diverse and aged care environment.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate maintenance records.Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and manual handling practices.
