Associate Electrical Engineer

Electrical Associate - To $180K + Super + Bonus

Due to growth, I'm partnering with a well-known M&E design and construct contractor based in West Sydney to find them an Electrical Associate, for their in-house design team.

Established over 20 years ago, they currently employ 500 staff and specialise in the design and delivery of complex projects such as data centres, hospitals, automated warehouses and infrastructure.

Reporting to the Head of Electrical, you'll be responsible for leading one or two major project at a time, which ensures you won't burn out.

You'll become a key member of a fully integrated M&E design team of around 40 individuals, and enjoy working closely with the estimators, project mangers and commissioning engineers.

You'll have full autonomy on projects and be trusted to use your own initiative to solve complex projects onsite and drive projects forward to completion. Rather than only getting involved in new builds, you'll also be involved in complex upgrade, extension and refurbishment projects across Sydney which will ensure you don't get bored.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and run the electrical design on complex projects, from detailed design to delivery
• Work hands-on with site teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers
• Contribute to business development and developing existing client relationships
• Bring a commercial mindset to project delivery focussing on cost, compliance and client requirements.
  

This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Associate who is currently working in a consultancy, who wants to be involved in projects from design through to construction.

You'll get to work on complex Tier 1 projects, for as privately owned D&C Contractor that has consistently punched above their weight technically, while retaining the agility and culture of a smaller outfit.

Requirements

• Strong electrical design background in a consultancy with genuine understanding of how buildings are actually built and constructed
• Or currently working as a Senior or Lead Design Engineer for a contractor.
• Proven experience running projects, ideally with exposure to both contracting and consultancy environments
• Previous experience mentoring and managing a team
• Commercially aware, with an eye for efficiency and buildability
• Above all, a positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn
