Intake Officer - Child Development Services (CDS)

About the role

You will play a pivotal role in supporting children with developmental differences and their families through a single-entry intake model of care.

Acting as the first point of contact, you'll utilise your clinical expertise to assess referrals, coordinate access to services, and ensure children and families are connected with the right care, at the right time.

Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the region, you'll contribute to innovative service delivery models that improve health and developmental outcomes for children throughout North West Queensland.

Working with us

• Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.
• Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.
• Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.
• Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.

Requirements

• Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check; from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. (If not AHPRA registered).
• Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences (see role description for more details). 
• C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
• Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
• This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
• A period of probation may apply.
