Role DescriptionThis is a part-time, on-site Medical Secretary role based in Nedlands, WA. The Medical Secretary will manage appointment scheduling, coordinate patient bookings, and maintain accurate medical records and files. Day-to-day duties include greeting patients, answering telephone calls, handling correspondence, preparing clinic lists, and providing administrative support to surgeons. The role also involves using practice management software, typing clinical letters and reports, organising referrals and test results, and ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with practice policies.The Medical Secretary will work closely with both clinical and administrative staff to support the efficient operation of the practice and deliver a positive patient experience.QualificationsStrong appointment scheduling and calendar management skills within a busy medical practice.Well-developed administrative skills, including document management, filing, record-keeping, and office organisation.Familiarity with medical terminology and experience working in a medical practice or healthcare setting.Excellent typing skills and accurate data entry abilities for preparing letters, reports, and maintaining electronic medical records.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.High attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.Proficiency in using practice management software, email, and standard Microsoft Office applications.Previous experience as a Medical Secretary, Medical Receptionist, or Administrative Assistant in a healthcare setting.
