Australian Red Cross is seeking enthusiastic and digitally-savvy volunteers to help elevate our social media presence. Key functions include: Brand management – Ensuring consistent and impactful representation of the Australian Red Cross brand. Campaign development – Creating and delivering public campaigns to support fundraising, emergency appeals, and humanitarian initiatives. Media and public relations – Managing media engagement, press releases, and public messaging. Digital and social media – Overseeing online presence across websites and social platforms to connect with diverse audiences. Internal communications – Keeping staff and volunteers informed and aligned with organizational goals. Content creation – Producing compelling stories, visuals, and multimedia that highlight Australian Red Cros impact and drive support. Description / duties: Support with the Senior Social Media Specialist with: Roll out of the social media strategy Develop and curate engaging content aligned with the brand voice Stay update with platform changes, trends and industry activity Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure social media requests are fulfilled Utilising analytics to track performance metrics The opportunity This is a great opportunity to build your skills in digital communications, be part of a supportive team, and help make a real difference across Australia and beyond. The Senior Social Media Specialist will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian network.    What we’re looking for:  A passion for social media, whether through personal use or professional experience  Experience managing social accounts, creating campaigns, or growing an audience  Creativity and a willingness to experiment with new ideas and formats  Ability to share examples of your work or social media projects you’ve been part of  Enthusiasm for storytelling and connecting with communities online  An interest in the not-for-profit sector   The impact  As a Social Media Volunteer, your work will help amplify the voices of communities in need, inspire action, and support the life-changing impact of Australian Red Cross programs across Australia and globally.    Application requirements For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.  You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV and provide details for at least one professional reference.
