About the role
An introduction to DLEEC:
The Diocese of Lismore Early Education and Care (DLEEC) Ltd. brings together our existing 9 OSHC services in one new organisation. Over time we are looking to grow in both OSHC and Early Learning.
As we come together as DLEEC, we have a new opportunity for a Regional Operations Officer to join us. The primary purpose of the position is to support and guide our OSHC Coordinators and Educators in their day to day activities, in serving our children, families and broader local community.
Responsibilities of the position:
This is an operations role - which is reflected in the position's responsibilities.
Promote and implement the DLEEC mission, vision and values while significantly contributing to DLEEC’ reputation as operating services of high quality
Work closely with the DLEEC teams to ensure the safe and effective operations of OSHC services
Create and support positive and cohesive relationships within the OSHC services, schools and across the DLEEC Team.
Interview candidates for Coordinator and Educator positions at designated services and coordinate their induction.
Guide OSHC staff in their daily operations, growth of enrolments, operational performance and supporting the documentation required for compliance and assessment & rating
Work with Coordinators to set/track service goals that will lead to improvements at their OSHC service.
Monitor and manage incident reporting, including required notifications and responses to regulatory bodies.
Lead and contribute to the effective coordination, communication and management of documents and evidence used in investigative processes.
Manage and monitor service rosters to ensure staffing ratios are maintained at each service
Support the DLEEC team in preparing new services for operation.
Review and approve service expenditure within the approved resources budget.
Conduct performance and professional development meetings with Coordinators to establish professional and Educational Leader goals and escalate conduct matters to the Operations Manager.
Guide Service Coordinators in developing and delivering educational programs
Oversee and provide ongoing guidance to Coordinators on the implementation of Inclusion Support Plans.
Monitor the National Workers Register and collaborate to ensure it remains current.
Deliver relevant training during service staff meetings.
Manage escalated matters and parent complaints.
What does a strong candidate look like?
You might not have all of the following but overall you should be able to demonstrate that you have established yourself as an OSHC or Early Learning leader with a strong understanding of the Laws, Regulations, National Quality Standards and Child Safe Standards that apply to the sector.
Qualifications, knowledge and experience that would strengthen your application include:
A diploma in Early Childhood or Degree in Early Childhood Education .
Well developed interpersonal skills and capacity to engage with stakeholders productively and sensitively
Expertise in childcare, experience in guiding educators in the delivery of education and leisure programs
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to be flexible in a complex environment
Ability to lead and mentor others to deliver high quality services
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs and/or the Google platform
Hold a current driver’s license and have access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
Valid Working with Children Check clearance (WWCC) number.
Willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church
