Assistant Venue Manager

Southside Racing is the beating heart of the Thoroughbred Racing Industry in the Southeast and with the largest training facility in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as multiple hospitality venues, providing first class entertainment to the wider community.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager at one of our multi-site venues, Club Officer. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Venue Manager in delivering exceptional customer experiences across our food and beverage and gaming businesses. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for an enthusiastic individual looking to advance their career in the hospitality industry, contributing to our commitment to high-quality food and beverage services as well as exceeding customer expectations across all our outlets within the venue. Shifts span over weekdays, evenings and weekends.

In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for:  

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Venue Manager in daily operations and staff management.
• Oversee event planning and execution, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Promote a positive team environment and foster staff development.
• Train and mentor staff to deliver high-quality service.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
• Assist in budgeting and financial reporting for the venue.
• Manage inventory and supplies, coordinating with suppliers as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Current RSA and RSG
• Proven experience in a hospitality or catering management role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant qualifications in hospitality management or a related field are preferred
