Site Technician

Meteorite Monitoring is a company headquartered in Greater Sydney Area, that provides smart utility metering solutions across the country. Our subscription-based service makes it easy to track, report and efficiently manage utility infrastructure and consumption. We help our clients measure and analyse their water, electricity, and gas data for insights that will meet their business, environmental and other targets.

Role Description

This is a permanent full-time role for a Site Technician.

The Site Technician will primarily perform installations, but will also provide technical support & troubleshooting, and complete data validations for our smart utility deployments. The Site Technician will be working mostly on-site, and often on construction sites deploying our systems in new buildings. Work will be across the Greater Melbourne Area.

Tasks vary, from working on an iPad, to mounting small electronic equipment, installing sensors, mounting small antennas, running cables, wiring terminations to running conduit, and more.

The Site Technician is able to engage directly with all staff in the business if need be -- we are a flat structure with open communication.
There is an opportunity for whomever is hired in this role to take responsibility for all operations in VIC, including managing the team of Site Technicians in VIC.
This would be a promotion and could occur at roughly the 6-month mark.

Note: This work does not require an electrician - we won’t be working with electricity/240v.

Qualifications/Experience

• Experience in general contracting (tradesman type work).

• Ability to work independently and in a construction site environment.

• Meticulous work ethic is essential.

• Analytical skills to identify technical problems on the spot.

• Experience in technical support and troubleshooting.

• Customer service skills to handle client concerns and questions in a professional manner.

• Experience with water metering and utilities in general.

• All manor of technology skills very much welcomed and appreciated.
