About the role
TEBCO is looking for a practical, hands-on all-rounder to join our growing team in Picton.
This is not a job for someone who wants to stand around waiting to be told what to do. We are looking for someone who can get stuck in, use common sense, work with their hands and help wherever needed.
The role is a mixture of yard work, workshop labouring, forklift driving and assisting our fabricators. No two days will necessarily be the same.
What you'll be doingForklift driving, loading and unloading trucks
Moving steel, equipment and materials around the workshop and yard
Assisting welders and fabricators
Grinding, cutting, drilling and general preparation work
Using hand tools and power tools
Cleaning and preparing steel and components
General workshop labouring
Keeping the yard and workshop organised
Packing, loading and preparing jobs
Helping with whatever needs to be done to keep the workshop moving
Practical and mechanically minded
Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
Reliable and turns up every day ready to work
Able to work independently without needing constant supervision
Willing to learn and take on different jobs
Comfortable working in a busy workshop and yard environment
Able to see something that needs doing and just get on with it
Looking for a stable, long-term position
Enjoys working with a team
Forklift licence
Experience working in a workshop, yard, steel, fabrication, construction, mechanical or similar environment
Experience using grinders, drills, saws and other workshop tools
Basic fabrication or welding knowledge would be an advantage
Driver's licence
You do not need to be a qualified fabricator. We are more interested in finding a capable, practical person with the right attitude who can become a valuable all-round member of the team.
HoursMonday to Friday – 7:00am to 3:30pm
Optional overtime may also be available and is paid at 1.5x.
The right personWe want someone who takes pride in their work, looks after equipment, keeps things organised and has a great attitude!
If you're the sort of person who can drive a forklift, grab a grinder, help a fabricator, unload a truck, sort out the yard and tackle whatever else needs doing that day, this could be a very good long-term role for you.
Local applicants from Picton and surrounding areas are preferred.
Apply with your resume and a short introduction telling us about your practical/workshop experience and why you think you'd suit the role.
