About the role
The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) is the peak body for unions in Australia. Through the Australian Trade Union Institute (ATUI), we deliver education and capacity building that supports unions to grow, win, and build power for working people.
We are seeking an experienced and creative Online Learning Designer & Educator to lead the design, development and delivery of engaging online learning experiences for union members, delegates and officials across Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to help expand the reach and impact of union education through innovative digital learning, multimedia content and online facilitation.

Reporting to the Capacity Building Manager, the Online Learning Designer & Educator plays a key role in strengthening education and learning opportunities across the union movement. You will work closely with educators, affiliates, subject matter experts and multimedia specialists to design engaging online courses, webinars and digital learning resources that make high-quality union education accessible to more workers and activists.
This role combines instructional design, online facilitation, learning technology and project management. You will help shape the future of digital learning at the ACTU and support affiliates to build their own online education capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
You are passionate about education and learning and have a strong understanding of how adults learn in digital environments. You are creative, organised and confident using technology to create engaging learning experiences.

The ACTU offers a competitive salary range of $121,898 - $142,404 depending on skills and experience, along with:
