The Lancefield Hotel The Lancefield Hotel is looking for a skilled Chef to join our kitchen team in Lancefield, Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, contributing to menu development and seasonal specials, catering for dietary requirements and supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared consistently and presented to a high standard while maintaining food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements. This is a full-time position suited to a qualified Chef with relevant commercial kitchen experience and a strong commitment to quality food and customer satisfaction. Benefits

Supportive and team-focused working environment. Ongoing opportunity to develop culinary and kitchen management skills.   Task & responsibilities   Prepare and cook food for patrons, including daily meals and food specials.

Create and execute a diverse menu with a focus on quality, presentation and seasonal offerings. Prepare dishes in accordance with established recipes, portion requirements and presentation standards. Cater for dietary requirements and special requests to provide a positive dining experience for guests.

Ensure all food preparation and cooking complies with applicable health, hygiene, food safety and HACCP standards. Contribute ideas towards menu development, new dishes and seasonal specials. Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service.

Support and guide kitchen staff where required. Coordinate with suppliers and assist the Head Chef with supplier-related matters. Manage inventory, including stocktakes, receiving deliveries and maintaining accurate stock records.

Assist with ordering ingredients and supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels. Monitor food usage and assist with controlling food wastage and costs. Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and food preparation area.

Ensure kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas are maintained appropriately. Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff to provide efficient food service. Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

  Qualification & experience   Certificate IV or Diploma in Culinary Arts or a similar discipline. . Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in commercial kitchen operations or culinary management. Demonstrated experience preparing and cooking a variety of meals in a commercial kitchen.

Knowledge of menu development, food preparation and presentation. Knowledge of food cost management, stock control and general kitchen operations. Understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.

Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
