We are looking for passionate and motivated Commis Chefs to join our culinary team, with three opportunities available across our different food and beverage operations.

Full-Time Commis Chef & Part-Time Commis Chef – Banqueting & Events, Breakfast and In-Room Dining

These positions offer the opportunity to work across a diverse hotel kitchen environment, preparing food for conferences, events and banqueting, as well as our breakfast and In-Room Dining services. You will gain valuable experience across a variety of service styles and volumes, from large-scale events to daily breakfast and personalised dining experiences delivered directly to our guests' rooms.

Part-Time Commis Chef – Pastore

Our third opportunity is based in Pastore, Hotel Chadstone's signature modern Italian restaurant. Working primarily across lunch and dinner à la carte service, you will be part of a kitchen that blends Italian tradition with Melbourne creativity. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a refined restaurant environment, working with quality ingredients and delivering beautifully presented dishes to our guests.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with our culinary standards

• Complete mise en place efficiently and to a high standard in preparation for service

• Work alongside experienced chefs to develop your culinary skills and knowledge

• Maintain exceptional hygiene, organisation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen

• Follow recipes, presentation standards and food safety procedures consistently

• Support smooth and efficient service across your designated kitchen operation

• Assist with stock rotation, portion control and minimising food waste

• Work collaboratively with the wider culinary team to deliver exceptional food and memorable guest experiences

• Take pride in your work and contribute to a positive, professional and supportive kitchen culture

What we're looking for…

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef, Apprentice Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen

• A genuine passion for food and a desire to continue developing your culinary skills

• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation and quality

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs

• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, depending on the position
