Experienced Window Furnishings Installer

About the Opportunity

An established Melbourne window furnishings business is looking for an experienced subcontract window furnishings installer to work with us on an ongoing basis.

The work includes a mix of commercial and residential projects across Melbourne and surrounding areas, with regional travel within parts of Victoria required from time to time.

Our projects range from everyday curtain, blind, shutter and outdoor installations through to bespoke projects incorporating boutique products, custom track systems, motorisation and tailored solutions.

We are looking for an installer who enjoys this variety, is comfortable working through more complex installations and takes pride in delivering a high-quality finished result.

We currently have sufficient workload for approximately three days per week, with the potential for additional work depending on project demand and installer availability. The days are flexible and can be coordinated around other work and existing commitments.

We're looking for someone who already knows their trade. You'll need to be confident installing a broad range of window furnishings and competent in carrying out check measures when required.

You'll operate as an independent subcontractor, but when you're working with us, you're part of the team. We value the experience our installers bring and believe the best results come from good communication, mutual respect and working together.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the professional installation of custom-made window furnishings, from straightforward everyday installations through to bespoke and more technically detailed projects.

You'll also carry out check measures on selected projects when required.

Products and systems you'll work with may include:

• Internal blinds

• Curtains and track systems

• Plantation shutters

• Outdoor blinds and awnings

• Motorised window furnishing systems

• Boutique and custom window furnishing products and systems

For jobs requiring a check measure, you'll need to be confident assessing the site, taking accurate measurements, identifying potential installation challenges and communicating anything we need to consider before products are ordered or manufactured.

Experience & Requirements

This opportunity is for experienced window furnishing installers.

You'll need:

• Demonstrated professional experience installing a broad range of window furnishings

• Strong experience with internal blinds, curtains, track systems, plantation shutters and outdoor products

• Experience installing motorised window furnishing systems

• Demonstrated experience and competency carrying out check measures for custom-made window furnishings

• The ability to assess site conditions and identify potential installation issues

• Confidence troubleshooting and resolving installation and site challenges

• Your own ABN

• Your own suitable vehicle

• Your own professional tools and installation equipment

• Current public liability insurance

• Current Australian driver's licence

• Your own appropriate PPE and safety equipment, including safety footwear

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Willingness to travel regionally within Victoria when required

A current Construction Induction (White Card) and Working with Children Check are preferred but are not essential at this stage.

Company-branded uniform will be supplied for you to wear when representing the business on site.
