About the role
Aegros is an Australian biopharmaceutical leader dedicated to unlocking the full life saving potential of human plasma. Our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure every patient who needs Plasma Derived Medicines can access them.
At the centre of this mission is HaemaFrac®, our breakthrough fractionation platform that has the power to transform how Plasma Derived Medicines are manufactured globally. This equipment relies on Aegros technology of membrane production that is developed in house.
In 2026, Aegros will complete construction and validation of its HaemaFrac® production facility in Macquarie Park, Australia. This milestone will mark the beginning of a new era for plasma manufacturing, setting a benchmark for innovation, efficiency, and patient impact.
Aegros: Transforming plasma. Transforming lives.
The Role:We are currently looking for one - two enthusiastic Chemical Process or Polymer Engineers to join as Interns for 3-month assignments to help with setting up the Aegros Membrane Systems (AMS) facility to support the manufacture of membranes and cartridges that will be used on our HaemaFrac platform.
You will be working directly with our membrane fabrication specialists alongside other colleagues from the Process Development, R&D and Quality Assurance teams as we prepare our membrane facility for ISO licence, scale up and commercialisation.
Specifically, the applicants will participate in getting the membrane tech transfer from R&D completed and getting the facility ready for ISO certification. This will be a good opportunity to have firsthand experience in seeing a facility go from manual production to scaling up to a semi-automated process with preparation for an ISO certification.
You will ideally be in your final year of studies and are interested in the hands-on / practical application of process engineering within the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
Candidates should enjoy problem solving, process optimisation and process design, aimed at establishing and improving the manufacturing processes.
Other desirable skills include the ability to prioritise, think logically, have good communication skills and are willing to learn and be flexible.
