Joining the team at BlockTexx, represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a key member of a new innovative and bold textile recovery business which is committed to making a real impact on improving our environment.
BlockTexx patented technology processes unwanted textiles and clothing back into high value raw materials for reuse including back into new textiles.
The state-of-the-art textile recovery facility is located in the Logan region of Brisbane.
About the role
This a temporary full time contract role and represents an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience within a unique environment which will be constantly changing and challenging. Reporting directly to the Product Development Manager, you will be involved in the following important aspects of BlockTexx’s operation:
Sampling, quality testing and analysing raw materials, process products and final products throughout the entire operation.
Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to support quality analysis and product development.
This role will suit a candidate who would like to work on the forefront of textile recycling. The role is a rare opportunity to grow professionally and personally within a unique and expanding business.
Key Position Requirements:
Proven skills and ability to undertake a range of hands-on tasks associated including laboratory testing and analysis tasks.
Ability to work unsupervised and to take accountability for the accurate and timely completion of tasks including problem solving issues encountered.
Excellent organisational skills and a high attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; including the ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with members of the R&D and production teams.
Well-developed computer skills including the proficiency with using a range Microsoft Office programs to compile data and to prepare reports.
Relevant qualifications in the Science field. Certificate 3 or 4 in laboratory testing or newly graduated chemistry students welcomed.
Relevant experience in particular in relation to the manufacturing sector would be highly regarded .
