About the role
A busy showroom, premium product, and one person to run it
Entry Point sells architectural door and cabinet hardware in Palmyra. Handles, entrance sets, hinges, seals, smart locks and our own brand, Havolka. We turn over around 470 orders a month. The phone rings, the door opens, and there is always a quote that needs following up.
Our clients are interior designers, architects, builders, developers and homeowners building something they care about. They are specifying whole homes, not buying one handle. Many of them come back eight to fifteen times a year. When you look after them properly, they bring you the next job before you ask.
Our owner currently runs the floor. He is stepping back. We want one person to take the showroom and lead it.
What the job actually looks like
You open up, walk the floor and get the space right before the first client arrives. You take the calls and the walk ins, work out what the project actually needs, and quote it properly with lead times so nobody gets caught out. You get into HubSpot and work your follow ups, because a quote sitting untouched is money walking out the door. You talk to suppliers about new ranges and get them onto the website and onto the shelf. Twice a week the whole team stops and does nothing but follow up, and you are in it.
It is not a quiet counter job. There is a lot going on and you will be the one holding it together.
What you will own
Converting walk in and phone clients into orders, and into clients who come back
Quoting and following up in HubSpot so nothing goes cold
Account managing a book of designers, architects and builders, and growing what they spend with us
The standard of the showroom. It looks the way a premium brand should, every day
Main contact for a number of our suppliers
Getting new product onto the website, working with the team
Telling us how to make the store better, and then doing it
You will account manage, not just serve
A share of our best clients will become yours to look after. Named accounts, your book, your responsibility. That means knowing what they have coming up before they tell you, calling them when you have not heard from them in a while, and making sure the next job comes to us rather than to whoever answered the phone first.
These are clients who place eight to fifteen jobs a year when they are looked after properly. Get that right and the difference between a good year and a great one is largely down to you.
You are the lead, and you run it
This is the senior role in the showroom. You are not reporting to a floor manager and you are not waiting on a head office. You report to the owner directly, and once you are up to speed the day to day is yours to run.
You decide how the floor is set up, how clients are handled, what gets prioritised and what needs to change. If a client needs something worked out on the spot, you work it out. If the showroom needs to be done differently, you do it differently. You will have support around you, our commercial lead for anything technical, our finance partner for purchasing, and a stockroom that keeps the product moving, so you are free to sell and to run the space.
The things we hold onto are pricing sign off below our floor and supplier purchasing. Everything else on that floor is your call.
What you bring
Sales or showroom experience. You have sold face to face and you are good at it
You like selling. Targets do not scare you, they focus you
Excellent relationship skills. Clients ask for you by name
The judgement to work independently and the discipline to follow a process
Comfort on the phone. You call people, you do not wait for the door to open
Pride in your space. You notice the mess before anyone tells you
Building products or hardware experience is a plus, not a must. We will teach you the product
This is probably not for you if
You want a quiet store with time between customers
You want someone to tell you what to do each morning
Following up feels like nagging to you
You would rather not be responsible for how the place looks
Why this one is worth taking
Genuine independence. You lead the showroom and your ideas get actioned, not filed
Premium product and premium clients. No bargain hunting, no big box noise
No weekend work, no late nights. 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
Base plus commission, uncapped, with a stronger rate on our own brand
A small team where your work is visible and decisions happen the same week
Established process, systems and CRM already in place, so you can sell from week one
Full product training. Our suppliers run sessions and we will get you in front of them
The details
Full time, 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Our showroom, 4/327 Canning Highway, Palmyra WA 6157
$77,500 to $82,000 base plus commission, OTE around $95,000 plus superannuation, based on experience
Apply with your resume and a short note telling us about a client you won and kept.
