Mechanical Fitter – Concrete Pump Equipment

Flowcrete Group Pty Ltd About the Role Working within our manufacturing workshop, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, servicing and repairing the mechanical and hydraulic components of truck-mounted concrete pumps, trailer pumps and associated equipment. You will work closely with fabrication, hydraulic and auto electrical teams to ensure each unit is manufactured to Flowcrete's quality standards before delivery to customers.   Benefits What We Offer

Task & responsibilities Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical systems and components used in the manufacture of truck-mounted and trailer-mounted concrete pumps, ensuring all assemblies are completed in accordance with engineering requirements.
• Install hydraulic equipment, pipework, mounting systems and associated mechanical components as part of the production and fit-out process.
• Interpret workshop drawings, production documentation and engineering instructions to determine assembly requirements and ensure components are installed correctly.
• Carry out modifications and mechanical fit-outs to truck chassis and equipment to accommodate concrete pumping systems and customer-specific configurations.
• Inspect completed assemblies throughout the build process, making adjustments where required to achieve correct alignment, operation and overall build quality.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of newly manufactured equipment by performing functional testing and identifying any mechanical issues prior to final quality inspection.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults identified during production, servicing or refurbishment activities and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Remove, replace and refurbish worn or damaged mechanical components as part of scheduled servicing and equipment rebuilds.
• Work closely with fabrication, hydraulic and auto electrical teams to coordinate mechanical installations and ensure production schedules are achieved.
• Maintain workshop documentation relating to completed work, repairs and quality inspections while complying with company procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualification & experience Skills & Experience Applicants should possess:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or another relevant trade qualification.
• Minimum one (1) year relevant work experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter or similar mechanical trade.
• Demonstrated experience assembling and maintaining mechanical equipment, machinery or heavy industrial equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience working with hydraulic systems and mechanical assemblies.
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and workshop machinery.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a manufacturing team.

Desirable

• Experience working on heavy vehicles, construction equipment, concrete pumps or mobile plant.
• Current Driver Licence.
