Operational Technology Technician required

Requirements for the role:

Previous experience in installations is a Must.

Must be able to install and maintain various Technologies such as HPGPS, Fleet Management, Wi-Fi, 2-Way Radios.

Keep surface mining Operational Technology online, safe, and compliant: This includes: RF/Wi-Fi backhaul, FMS in-cab hardware (Wenco/Ivolve/Carlson knowledge an advantage), HPGPS, CAS, 2Way radios, Dashcams, Surface camera links, and comms trailers.

Diagnose and fix production-impact faults fast, execute preventive maintenance, administer configs and monitoring systems, and document changes to site standards.

Day-to-Day

• Monitor network health ; triage alerts, and communicate ETAs to Dispatch.

• Move Trailers and restore links; align antennas.

• Maintain comms trailers (solar/charge, batteries, masts/winches, enclosures, PoE injectors, switches, Antennas, Radios).

• Service and swap in-cab FMS hardware (tablets, GPS pucks, radios, harnesses)

• Address 2Way radio faults & program new radios, load codeplugs; perform firmware upgrades.

• Address HPGPS Issues and verify corrections feed into database.

• Support CAS replace units

• Execute incident response: storm/lightning, major comms outage, after-hours call-outs.

• Keep secure configuration management: take/verify backups

• Enforce change control: capture before/after photos, record timestamps, and peer-review.

• Maintain spares and critical inventory;

• Track vendor RMAs.

• Produce end-of-week Handover

• Coach/mentor (TA/relief techs/dispatchers) on basic checks and first-response steps; contribute QRGs.

• Work safely: work-at-heights, permits, housekeeping of cabinets/masts

this position is onsite FIFO, with travel to multiple locations. must be able to pass a medical, police clearance and have the rights to work in Australia
