Mechanical Trades Assistant

Hendra, Brisbane | Full-Time | Workshop-Based Role

Love working on vehicles, fitting accessories, and getting stuck into practical work?

We're looking for a mechanically minded Trades Assistant to join our Fleet team in Hendra. Supporting a fleet of 400+ vehicles, plant and equipment, you'll play a key role in preparing vehicles, fitting accessories, assisting with repairs, and keeping our fleet ready for the road.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has a genuine interest in vehicles, and wants a stable, long-term role in a busy workshop environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• No two days are exactly the same, but your work may include:
• Fitting roof racks, toolboxes and vehicle accessories
• Installing beacons and carrying out basic wiring tasks
• Assisting Mechanics with vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Completing minor modifications and vehicle fit-outs
• Preparing vehicles and equipment for deployment
• Supporting workshop and storage area operations
• Working independently once trained and confident in your tasks

What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a qualified mechanic, you'll be someone who enjoys working on vehicles and isn't afraid to pick up the tools.

You'll bring:

• A strong mechanical aptitude and practical mindset
• Experience using hand and power tools
• An interest in vehicles, machinery or equipment
• A current unrestricted manual driver's licence
• The ability to work independently and take initiative
• A reliable, hands-on approach to work

Desirable but not essential:

• Auto electrical experience
• Forklift licence
• MR or HR licence
