Community Support Worker

Allegiance Heart & Home Care is seeking a reliable and experienced Domestic Assistance Support Worker to provide regular in-home support.

About the Shift

The successful worker will assist with maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable home environment. Duties may include:

• Vacuuming and mopping floors
• Cleaning bathrooms, shower and toilet areas
• Cleaning the kitchen and wiping down surfaces
• Dusting and general household cleaning
• Changing bed linen
• Laundry, including washing, hanging, folding and putting away clothes
• Emptying bins
• Cleaning commonly used areas of the home
• Other reasonable domestic assistance tasks requested by the client
• Identifying and reporting any household safety concerns
• Completing a brief progress note following each shift

This is a domestic assistance service and does not currently involve personal care.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is

• Reliable, punctual and consistent
• Respectful of the client’s home, privacy and independence
• Experienced in domestic assistance, aged care or community support
• Able to work independently and follow the client’s preferences
• Thorough and attentive when cleaning
• Comfortable working around an older person with reduced mobility
• Able to communicate any concerns or changes to the care team
• Able to complete clear and accurate progress notes

Requirements

• Current National Police Check
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Australian working rights
• Previous aged-care/community-care experience preferred
• Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care is desirable but not essential for applicants with suitable domestic assistance experience
