Design Drafter - Civil / Land Development

WML Consultants seeks a Civil / Land Development Design Drafter to join our Perth branch. In this role, you will prepare high-quality engineering designs and drawings while working alongside our specialist teams to shape community infrastructure and major civil projects across Western Australia. Key Responsibilities

Design

• Drafting: Prepare engineering design drawings for civil, road, land development, and drainage projects.

• Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with relevant guidelines, standards, and codes of practice.

• Site Work: Carry out site inspections and measurements, documenting observations in drawings or records.

• Systems: Contributes to developing, maintaining, and improving company job management processes.

• Innovation: Research and include innovative solutions in your designs where appropriate.

Administration

• Data Gathering: Assist engineering staff to acquire electronic and other data from various sources.

• Filing: Manage and file documentation, drawings, and maps according to company guidelines.

• Process Support: Contributes to developing, maintaining, and improving job management systems.

• Flexibility: Undertake other duties and assignments as required by the team.

Contract Management

• Tenders: Assist in preparing tender and contract documentation.

• Inspections: Conduct site inspections and measurements, reporting the results clearly.

• System Growth: Contributes to developing, maintaining, and improving internal contract management processes.

Selection Criteria

• Qualifications: Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical industry experience.

• Software Skills: Proficient, hands-on experience using both AutoCAD and 12d.

• Design Expertise: Strong background in civil, road, drainage, or sub-divisional layouts.

• Work Rights: Must hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship status.
