Road Transport Mechanic

We are seeking a motivated road transport mechanic to join our team, maintaining our modern fleet with competitive pay, skills development & supportive team culture.

We’re looking for a skilled road transport mechanic to perform servicing, repairs and general preventative maintenance on our fleet of trucks and trailers. Your positive attitude, versatility around the workshop, and strong diagnostic skills will be an essential part of helping the team. 
 
This is a Monday to Friday role with the occasional Saturday work as required and will see you working with an outstanding team of tradespeople, apprentices and support staff in a new modern workshop facility based in High Wycombe. 

The Role: 

• Servicing and maintenance of the fleet, including scheduled maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance 

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults. 

•  Undertake major engine works, brake repairs, suspension work, drivetrain repairs, and fault rectification as required. 

•  Maintain accurate service and repair records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. 

•  Attend to breakdowns and carry out servicing on customer sites as required using the fully equipped field service vehicle.  

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all maintenance activities 

Provide hands-on training and guidance to apprentices, fostering their technical skills and knowledge in diesel mechanics 

About You 

• Fully qualified Mechanic with a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology. 

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Current driver's licence (HC licence an advantage) 

• Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented 

• Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing vehicles, trucks, and trailers. 

• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving capability. 

• Strong commitment to safe work practices 

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
