About the role
Industry Skills Advisory Council NT (ISACNT) is seeking an experienced and passionate Workforce & Skills Manager to lead our Workforce & Skills team and deliver high-quality services that make a real difference across the Northern Territory.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, managing projects, leading teams, and influencing workforce and skills development across a range of industries.
About the RoleReporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide strong leadership, management and supervision of the Workforce & Skills team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services, achievement of contractual outcomes, and operational excellence.
You will lead by example, fostering a positive workplace culture while collaborating with industry, government, training providers, businesses, and other key stakeholders to identify and deliver workforce development solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor and support the Workforce & Skills team to achieve organisational and contractual outcomes.
Support the Operations Manager with day-to-day operational performance and team management.
Foster a professional, collaborative and high-performing workplace culture.
Manage staff performance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage Workforce & Skills projects and contracts to ensure quality outcomes and compliance.
Lead industry consultation and support the work of industry advisory groups.
Develop workforce solutions and strategies that respond to current and emerging industry needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, businesses, schools, registered training organisations and government across the Northern Territory, including regional and remote communities.
Provide expert advice on workforce trends, skills development initiatives and VET matters.
Promote vocational education and training pathways and support workforce development programs.
Prepare high-level reports, briefing papers, articles and social media content.
Represent ISACNT at conferences, committees, industry forums, working groups and networking events.
Deliver presentations, events and public speaking engagements as required.
You are a confident and proactive leader with excellent relationship management skills and a strong understanding of workforce development and the vocational education and training sector.
EssentialNationally recognised qualification in management, training or a related discipline.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of the National and Northern Territory Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
Experience leading teams, managing projects and delivering contractual outcomes.
Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence change, solve complex problems and deliver results.
Experience managing performance and continuous improvement.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client databases.
Ability to undertake intrastate and interstate travel.
Current NT C-Class Driver's Licence.
Working with Children Clearance.
National Police Check.
White Card (if applicable).
Tertiary qualifications in public policy, business, commerce or a related discipline.
