About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The purpose of this position is to assist in the provision and coordination of animal care and husbandry; technical services and facility support to ensure compliance with the regulatory framework and the provision of gold standard animal health and welfare in line with National Health and Medical Research Council’s Code of Practice for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes.
The duties of this role include daily care and handling of large animals, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal health and behaviour, and maintaining accurate records. The position requires working both independently and as part of a team, following animal welfare, workplace health and safety, and biosecurity procedures at all times.
