Cloud Platform Engineer

Profectus is inviting expressions of interest from Cloud Platform Engineers for likely upcoming work across secure Australian Government environments. This is platform engineering for engineers who build with code rather than operate consoles, spanning infrastructure as code, container platforms, pipeline tooling and the internal developer experience that delivery teams depend on, often within secure and disconnected environments. We are seeking engineers who can build and sustain cloud platform capability as code to a high standard in structured, well-governed settings.
Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and sustain cloud platform capability as code across AWS or AzureDevelop and maintain infrastructure as code, particularly using TerraformOperate container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, not only deploy to themDesign and maintain CI and CD pipelines so teams can ship into secure environments reliablyDevelop automation and platform tooling using Python, Go or comparable languagesScript build, deployment and operational tasks using Bash and PowerShellPackage applications using Helm and manage configuration through YAMLAlign the platform security posture to ASD Information Security Manual controls and accreditation requirementsSupport observability using tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana or SplunkMaintain operational runbooks and platform documentationSupport multiple internal delivery teams through a reliable platform and developer experience
Required ExperienceDemonstrated cloud platform engineering experience on AWS or AzureStrong infrastructure as code capability, particularly TerraformContainer orchestration experience, typically Kubernetes, including operating it rather than only deploying to itScripting or programming capability in Python, Go or a comparable languageExperience designing and maintaining CI and CD pipelinesUnderstanding of how ASD Information Security Manual controls shape platform designCapability across build, deployment and operational scripting using BashStrong documentation skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable ExperienceExperience in a classified, air gapped or otherwise disconnected cloud environmentPlatform engineering experience supporting multiple internal delivery teamsObservability tooling experience such as Prometheus, Grafana or SplunkCertifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional, Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or HashiCorp Terraform AssociateExperience delivering within Australian Government environments
Security Clearance RequirementMust be an Australian CitizenMust hold a current AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance (minimum)
