Brady Hotels & Apartments is looking for an experienced and practical Maintenance Handyman to join our team, working across five hotels in Melbourne CBD.

We're particularly interested in someone with previous HVAC, refrigeration or air-conditioning experience who is looking for a change of pace and a more varied in-house maintenance role.

This is primarily a general hotel maintenance position, with your HVAC knowledge providing valuable additional expertise to our team.

About the Role

You'll work across our five Melbourne CBD hotels, taking care of the everyday maintenance issues that come with operating busy hotels.

This is a genuinely hands-on and varied role. You could be repairing a door, painting a guest room, fixing a leaking tap, replacing fittings, troubleshooting an air-conditioning issue or completing preventative maintenance.

We're looking for someone practical who enjoys solving problems and is happy to turn their hand to whatever needs doing.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and handyman work across our hotels.

• Complete planned and preventative maintenance.

• Respond to maintenance requests from hotel teams and guests.

• Undertake painting, patching, basic plumbing and carpentry.

• Repair doors, locks, fixtures, fittings and hotel equipment.

• Assist with guest room and public area maintenance.

• Troubleshoot basic HVAC and air-conditioning issues.

• Identify HVAC problems that require specialist contractors.

• Monitor plant and equipment and identify issues early.

• Coordinate external trades and contractors when required.

• Help keep our hotels safe, comfortable and presented to a high standard.

About You

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a handyman role.

• HVAC, refrigeration or air-conditioning experience is highly regarded.

• A trade background would be advantageous but isn't essential.

• Strong practical and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable undertaking a broad range of general maintenance tasks.

• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.

• Someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys getting things fixed.

• Friendly and approachable when working around guests and hotel teams.

We're not looking for someone who only wants to work on HVAC. We're looking for an experienced all-rounder who enjoys general maintenance and can also bring valuable HVAC knowledge to the team.
