Clinical Psychologist/Registered Psychologist - Trauma Recovery

St John of God Health Care has launched the Mental Health Satellite Site, designed to bring vital trauma recovery services closer to veterans and first responders in their local communities. The newly developed Richmond Hospital Satellite PTSD Recovery Centre in Wagga Wagga offers a comprehensive, specialised outpatient trauma service.

We provide a suite of recognised clinical programs, complemented by holistic services like exercise physiology and transitional employment. This vital service is specifically designed for serving ADF members, first responders, and veterans, bringing essential trauma recovery treatment closer to their homes in local communities.

Your role at St John of God Wagga Wagga

We are seeking applications for Clinical Psychologists, Registered Psychologists (Grade 2-3) to join our clinical team in Wagga Wagga, on a permanent full-time or part-time basis.

This is a rare opportunity to be an integral part of a groundbreaking initiative. You'll join a dedicated, collaborative team including working alongside a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist experienced in Trauma in a purpose-built community setting, working within a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed model of care. In addition, you will work alongside the Research lead who is capturing the data to inform future service delivery.

The Position

• Provides individualised and group clinical care based on professional training reflecting current ethical clinical practice as required.

• Provides comprehensive assessment and care planning monitoring client progress adjusting treatment accordingly.

• Evaluates clinical outcomes and participates in research activities as required.

• Liaise with all staff to promote effective communication including verbal and written feedback to referring Doctor.

• Familiar and complies with legal, ethical responsibilities to patients, visitors and staff.

• Maintains confidentiality and an appropriate professional relationship with staff and patients.

• Participates regularly in clinical supervision and continues ongoing professional development through education.

Successful applicants must be registered as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and have post-graduate experience working with groups and individuals presenting with a myriad of concerns.

Previous experience working with ADF members, first responders/emergency services and veterans with PTSD will be highly regarded.

• Grade 2-3 salary banding: $79,551 to $139,754 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation

• Permanent full-time/part-time| hours/days can be negotiated
