FUNCTIONS & FOH SUPERVISOR

Casual Position with Opportunity to Progress to Full-Time

The Tramsheds Function Centre is looking for an energetic, organised and customer-focused Functions & FOH Supervisor to join our team.

This position will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the opportunity to progress to full-time employment for the right person based on performance, availability and business requirements.

ABOUT THE TRAMSHEDS

The Tramsheds Function Centre is an iconic Launceston venue located in the heart of the Inveresk precinct.

With multiple flexible function spaces and a 400-seat Auditorium, we host weddings, conferences, corporate functions, celebrations, community events and shows throughout the year.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a hands-on role combining front-of-house supervision, function coordination, bookings and administration.

You will work closely with the Venue Manager and management team to ensure our functions and events are delivered professionally from the initial booking through to the event itself.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist with the delivery of conferences, functions and events

• Lead FOH staff during event setup, service and pack-down

• Work from event run sheets, floor plans and client requirements

• Ensure function spaces are prepared and presented to a high standard

• Communicate with the Venue Manager, kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless event delivery

• Train and support casual and FOH team members

• Provide excellent customer service and professionally manage guest requests

• Take and manage function and event bookings

• Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email and in person

• Assist clients throughout the booking process

• Complete general administration and office duties

• Assist with event documentation, run sheets and booking records

• Undertake basic Xero duties, including assisting with invoicing and payments

• Maintain accurate customer and booking information

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is confident working both on the floor and in the office.

You will be organised, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility while maintaining a friendly and professional approach with our clients and guests.

Essential Criteria

• Previous hospitality experience, preferably in functions, events or venues

• Supervisory or senior FOH experience

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Ability to take and coordinate function/event bookings

• Good general administration and computer skills

• Basic knowledge of Xero

• Confident telephone and email communication skills

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment

• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

• High standard of personal presentation

• Current RSA certification

• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays

Desirable

• Function or event coordination experience

• Experience with venue/event booking software

• Barista or coffee-making experience

• Bartending experience

• Food-handling experience
