About the role
ANROWS is seeking expressions of interest from people interested in being nominated for appointment as an Independent Director of the Board.
ANROWS is seeking to fill two vacancies over the next two years, with appointments anticipated in 2026 and 2027.
Under the ANROWS Constitution, two Independent Directors must possess research expertise in domestic, family or sexual violence. The Board is therefore seeking candidates with strong research credentials together with the strategic and governance capabilities required of a company director.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are strongly encouraged to apply.
As a formal partner to the National Plan, the appointment of Independent Directors involves input from the ANROWS Board as well as the Commonwealth, state and territory governments, as the members of ANROWS.
The ANROWS Board is responsible for the governance, strategic oversight and long-term stewardship of the organisation.
The Board comprises a Chair, five Independent Directors, one Commonwealth Government Director and three State and Territory Government Directors.
