Child Care Educator (OSHC)

We're not hiring a qualification. We're hiring the person behind it, and honestly, half the time that person doesn't have one yet. Freshwater State School OSHC is building a team of unteachables. We are looking for the educators who turn up, who genuinely like kids, who will take feedback and run with it, and who make the whole team better just by being on shift. If that's you, we'll teach you the rest, and we'll pay for you to get qualified while you do it.

About You

·         Reliable. You show up when you say you will, and your team can count on you without having to check.

·         Warm and genuine with kids. Connection comes naturally, not from a script.

·         Coachable. You take feedback as information, not criticism, and you actually apply it.

·         Proactive. You see what needs doing and do it, rather than waiting to be told.

·         Energetic and a bit fun. You bring presence to a room, and the kids notice.

·         A team player. You back your colleagues up without being asked, and you show up for the team as much as the kids.

A current or in-progress qualification in Early Childhood Education, School Age Care or a related field is a genuine bonus and will be reflected in your pay. It is not a barrier to applying. If you've got the right attitude and hold or are willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), we want to hear from you, and if you're keen to start studying, we'll support you to get there while you earn.

About the Job

·         Providing a safe, engaging environment for children before school, after school, and during Vacation Care

·         Planning and running activities that support children's social, emotional, and physical development

·         Building genuine connections with children, families, and your team

·         Assisting with the preparation and service of snacks and light meals

·         Working within our policies, procedures, and the National Quality Framework to keep everyone safe

·         Collaborating with the Educational Leaders and your team to keep improving the program

·         Keeping accurate records as required
