NILS Microfinance Officer

About the role

The Logan East Community Neighbourhood Centre is seeking a dedicated Microfinance Officer to join our compassionate, high-performing team in Springwood. In this impactful role, you will help lead the delivery of the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS).

Key responsibilities

• Determine eligibility, conduct loan interviews, ascertain financial needs and explore microfinance

• Respond to phone and walk in enquiries

• Provide assisted referrals to financial counsellors and/or institutions as required

• Manage Centrelink reporting, bank and Visa card reconciliations, and internal monthly audits

• Undertake data entry and overall administration tasks associated with the maintenance of the position, programs and services

• Work with programs and loan databases

• Provide support to Loans Provider

• Actively participate and contribute to the delivery of quality client services in line with the vision, values and culture of Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association

About you

• Relevant qualifications or experience in, finance, business, banking and/or the community services sector

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

• High level computer literacy including experience with databases and reporting software, with experience in the use of MyNILS app highly regarded

• Previous financial/Loans experience desirable

• Demonstrated commitment to the principles of social justice

• An understanding of, or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of groups of people in society who may be more likely to experience poverty and financial exclusion

• Current Positive Blue Card notice

• Current National Police Check

• Current Queensland Driver's Licence
