About the role
Are you craving an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to re-engage students with their learning?
Would you describe yourself as enthusiastic and adaptive in your approach to education?
If so, Indie School Ipswich have a unique role for you!
Whether you are newly graduated or are experienced, primary or secondary trained, if your practice is founded on unconditional positive regard and the belief that young people can re-engage with learning and experience success through a strengths-based approach to education then this role may be for you!
About us
As an independent special assistance school with a growing national network of campuses, Indie School aims to reengage students with learning, improve their literacy and numeracy skills and help them to find their future pathway, whether it be returning to a mainstream school, engaging in post-secondary study, or joining the workforce.
Indie School provides young people with the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment using the principles of adult education: agency, independence, mutual respect and accountability. Small classes, individual plans, expertly created units of work, and specialised staff, assist our students to use their strengths to develop understanding and skills in their areas of challenge. At Indie School, we believe that education is not only about imparting knowledge, but also about empowering students to become confident, independent thinkers and problem solvers. We are looking for teachers who can bring creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to student-centred learning to our team.
Through prioritising safety, respect and engagement we create a culture in our school which facilitates belonging and success. Flexible timetables (students attend Monday to Thursday), no uniforms and the provision of meals, allow us to concentrate on the key facets of an optimal learning environment – regulation, relationship and routine.
