Function Duty Manager

The Functions Duty Manager is responsible for running and executing functions in real time
ResponsibilitiesSetting up function spaces correctly following instructions on BEO and floor planExecuting events in real time in accordance with BEO.Overseeing all types of events including Weddings, corporate events and social functions.Training of event staff with adherence to sequence of service and BBH policies and proceduresSupervision of function staffAdhering to RSA requirements during functionsAdmin duties including but not limited to menus, signage, call sheetsEnsure correct pack down procedures are followed + leaving function room neat/presentable for next dayDelivering excellent customer service to all current, past and prospective clients | Build positive relationships to encourage repeat businessLiaising with kitchen/chefs regarding details and timings of the event | Coordinate meal service with the kitchenEnsure high standards are maintained for service/food and beverage offerings | presentation and quality standardsFunction coordination | preparing BEO’s, floor plans, call sheets etcReplying to enquiries/follow ups in a professional and informative manner. Conducting venue tours with prospective clients when function manager is not available. Maintaining staff wages during functions | sending staff home if slower than expected/sending on breaks etc
QualificationsPrevious event experience and staff management is required. Approved manager is advantageous but not essential.
