About the role

Premium Auto Body is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our team in Clyde North, VIC. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with quality vehicles and deliver excellent craftsmanship in a professional automotive environment. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in restoring damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition, ensuring that every vehicle leaving our workshop meets the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate vehicle damage, determining the extent of repairs required and creating repair plans

• Use specialised tools and equipment to remove dents, straighten metal, and restore vehicle panels to their original shape

• Prepare vehicle surfaces through grinding, sanding and filling to ensure a smooth finish for painting

• Fit replacement panels and components where necessary, ensuring proper alignment and fitment

• Work with welding equipment to join panels and components where required

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Communicate effectively with workshop management and customers regarding repair progress and timelines

• Ensure all work is completed to company standards and quality specifications

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or formal apprenticeship in panel beating or automotive body repair

• Proven experience working as a panel beater in a professional automotive workshop environment

• Strong technical knowledge of panel beating techniques, metal working and vehicle construction

• Proficiency with panel beating tools, welding equipment and power tools

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

• Ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet workshop timelines

• Sound understanding of health and safety requirements in an automotive workshop

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies

• Current driver's licence is desirable
