Your Role

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Case Worker to join our Homelessness & Housing team. In this rewarding role, you'll provide person-centred case management and practical support to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability, helping them navigate challenges, access essential services and work towards long-term stability. 

Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you'll build trusted relationships with clients, advocate on their behalf and connect them with the resources and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives. Every day brings variety, purpose and the opportunity to create lasting positive outcomes for the people we serve. This role works across Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown. 

Your Responsibility

• Provide trauma-informed case management and support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
• Conduct client intake, assessments and develop individual case plans to achieve positive outcomes.
• Deliver crisis intervention, advocacy and referrals to appropriate internal and external support services.
• Undertake outreach and home visits where required to support clients in temporary or transitional accommodation.
• Build collaborative relationships with government agencies, community organisations and other service providers.
• Maintain accurate client records, case notes and service data in line with organisational and funding requirements.
• Support clients to access life skills, education, housing and community services that promote independence.
• Contribute to a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment that respects the dignity, rights and confidentiality of every client.
• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the service, including administrative tasks and supporting volunteers and students where required.
• Work collaboratively with your team to achieve service targets while contributing to continuous improvement and safe work practices.

You Will Need

• A Certificate IV in Community Services, Welfare or a related field (or be currently undertaking tertiary study).
• Experience supporting people experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable and marginalised communities.
• Knowledge of the complex issues contributing to homelessness, including mental health, family breakdown, alcohol and other drugs, and gambling.
• The ability to build strong relationships with clients, community organisations and government agencies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence working independently while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Sound computer skills and experience maintaining accurate case records.
• The ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgement and respond effectively in crisis situations.
• A current NSW Driver Licence.

Desirable

• Experience working within a membership-based or not-for-profit organisation.
