Work & Training, in partnership with Devonport City Council, is looking for a motivated apprentice to join their team and complete a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (AUR31220).
This is your chance to earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and work on a wide range of vehicles, small plant & heavy machinery used every day across the local community.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of the Council's workshop team, you'll learn how to:

Service, maintain and repair vehicles and heavy equipment

Diagnose faults and solve mechanical problems

Use industry-standard tools, equipment and technology

Inspect and test machinery to ensure it is operating safely

Work alongside experienced mechanics and tradespeople

No two days will be the same, and you'll gain experience working on a diverse fleet of vehicles, mobile plant and equipment.

Essential Requirements
- Current Tasmanian driver's licence
- Good literacy, numeracy and digital skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and workplace instructions
- Comfortable working around oils, grease, petrol and diesel
Bonus Points If You Have
- Completed Year 12 or relevant VET studies
- Experience using hand tools
- First Aid Certificate
