Heavy Vehicle Mechanic 

• Permanent / Full Time  
• Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight  
• $46.65 - $50.81 p/hr + Overtime (LGIA Stream C C10A&R – C7A&R $88,240 to $96,088 per year depending on qualifications and experience, inclusive of Site Allowance, Tool Allowance and 10% A&R incentive payment*) 
• $3,000 attraction payment upon successful completion of probationary period 
• $500 retention payment every 6 months from successful completion of probationary period 
• Location – Rockhampton

Council is seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will service and maintain a wide range of plant and equipment, including heavy earthmoving machinery, trucks, landscaping equipment and light vehicles. This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check). 

What we are looking for 

Trade qualified Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (and any other tickets/certificates) 

• Hands-on experience with light/heavy vehicles & civil plant 
•  Fault finding 
•  Auto electrica 
• Repairs & overhaul 
• Testing & modification 
• Tyres & servicing 
• A strong safe work attitude
