ABOUT US 

Plate & Steel Industries is an Australian‑owned steel processing business with a growing workload. We are seeking a reliable and detail‑focused Despatch Hand to join our day shift team at our Braeside facility.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering a quality product to customers and enjoys working as part of a busy team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Full‑time, permanent day shift position

• Reporting to the Operations Manager

• Working closely with the Despatch Team Leader

• Packing and preparing steel parts ready for shipment

• Operating plate cleaning and finishing equipment

• Forklift operation and general despatch duties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pack, protect, and prepare steel parts to customer requirements

• Operate plate cleaning equipment to ensure product quality

• Load and unload trucks using a forklift

• Identify, label, and stage orders accurately for dispatch

• Coordinate daily priorities with the Despatch Team Leader

• Ensure correct quantities, documentation, and presentation of goods

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area

• Follow all WHS policies and procedures
  

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience in despatch, warehousing, or manufacturing (preferred)

• Current forklift licence (required)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Takes pride in delivering a quality product

• Comfortable handling steel products and manual work

• Able to work effectively within a team environment

• Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused

• Willing to undergo drug & alcohol screening

• Able to pass a police check

• Full working rights in Australia
