About the role
Mount Waverley Secondary College is looking for a part-time Nurse to join our team.
Applicants should adhere to the following procedures for the submission of their application.

Hours of attendance: This role is for 3 days per week (days are negotiable). Hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm. Attendance is not required over school vacation periods.
ES 1-4 salary range is $93,265.00 - $109,967.00 p.a (full time equivalent salary)
Selection Criteria:
KSC 1 Qualifications and experience in nursing.
KSC 2 Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as a nurse in an education environment, providing professional advice and support services for students and their families, with a view to enhancing student wellbeing.
KSC 3 Demonstrated high level oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
KSC 4 Demonstrated high level of organisation and problem-solving skills, and the capacity to respond at the school level to emerging educational needs and priorities.
KSC 5 Demonstrated a commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of and working with the Student Support and Resources Manager:
Effectively manage the healthcare needs of all students and staff at MWSC.
· Maintain current authority to practice nursing through annual renewal of registration with APHRA.
· Attending to students, staff and /or other persons who are in need of treatment for illness or injury.
· Providing accurate clinical assessment of students and staff for effective care planning and the evaluation of the care provided.
· Maintaining necessary medical records and incident forms and the accurate recording of these on college information systems.
· Always maintain the privacy and confidentiality of students’ medical/health information.
· Participate in Departmental meetings and liaise with relevant college personnel on matters affecting the wellbeing of students and staff, liaison with parents/carers.
· Develop and implement health plans for students with specific needs.
· Maintaining a register of medical supplies for the maintenance of the college’s First Aid office and liaising with the nurse responsible for purchases.
· Replenishing first aid kits.
· Supporting first aid personnel and first aid requirements for programs including camps and excursions as required.
· Supporting programs for staff and students for health education and promotion and assisting with the delivery of such programs as required.
· Assisting the Student Support and Resources Manager with administrative records.
· Maintain knowledge and skills in emergency management and crisis response. For e.g., CPR, Anaphylaxis, mental health risk assessment and critical incident management.
· Promote preventative measures to avoid illnesses.
· Maintain staff qualifications for first aid, school anaphylaxis and asthma role and function within role outlined by DE., including delivering the twice-yearly Staff Anaphylaxis Briefing and assessing staff in the correct use of adrenaline delivery devices.
· Undertake other duties as required.
