About the role
The Central Coast Steiner School is a thriving, progressive independent Kindergarten to Year 12 school with nearly 400 students and growing. We have a beautiful bushland campus with outstanding facilities, and we are located close to some of the most exquisite beaches on the Central Coast. The School fosters an atmosphere where students develop into intellectually curious individuals and compassionate, socially responsible global citizens.
We are seeking an accomplished Mathematics and Science Teacher to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity commencing Term 1, 2027. This could be in a permanent full-time or part-time capacity for the right candidate. If part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
Steiner Education is an educational philosophy that guides teaching with a holistic, child-centered approach. It’s not a rigid method, but a framework for supporting balanced development. No Steiner experience is necessary for this role.
The successful applicant will be an engaging Mathematics and Science teacher who demonstrates creativity and rigour in the delivery of curriculum and who can foster warm, supportive relationships with students. As Mathematics Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students, fostering a love for mathematics and helping students develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Selection Criteria:
Demonstrate knowledge, competence and confidence in Mathematics and Science
Outstanding rapport with students
Programming, lesson planning, assessment and reporting
Create engaging and effective instructional materials and resources
Modifying teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Provide effective feedback to students in order to improve their understanding and learning
Contribute to the school's commitment to a well-rounded, rich, and distinctive curriculum
Excellent classroom management skills
Experience:
Experience in teaching Years 7-10 Mathematics and Science (Essential)
Experience teaching HSC Mathematics and Science (desirable)
Experience in teaching Mathematics and Science within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (desirable)
Experience teaching within a Steiner school (desirable)
Requirements:
Current NESA accreditation to teach in NSW
Current NSW Working with Children Check
Have a passion for teaching Mathematics and Science and relevant teaching experience
Have NESA recognised tertiary educational qualifications
Be able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
