As a trusted Australian furniture manufacturer and supplier to the education sector, we’re seeking an experienced and commercially astute Business Manager – Queensland to lead our Queensland sales operations and drive continued growth across the state.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for leading the Queensland Education sales team, developing strategic key account relationships, and executing sales initiatives that deliver sustainable revenue growth and profitability.

This is a leadership role that combines strategic business development, people leadership and customer engagement. You’ll work closely with executive leadership, key education stakeholders and internal teams to identify opportunities, strengthen partnerships and expand BFX’s market presence throughout Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Business Development

• Develop and execute strategies to increase market share and profitability across Queensland.
• Build and manage relationships with key education sector accounts, including school groups, dioceses, large multi-campus schools and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Drive achievement of state sales and profit targets.
• Collaborate with Projects and Commercial teams to identify and secure new opportunities.

Leadership

• Lead, mentor and inspire the Queensland sales team to achieve outstanding results.
• Provide coaching, support and direction to ensure successful implementation of business objectives.
• Conduct regular performance and development discussions with team members.
• Contribute valuable market intelligence, competitor insights and growth opportunities to the Executive team.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, key stakeholders and strategic partners.
• Champion a customer-centric culture focused on exceptional service outcomes.
• Establish and grow business partnerships that support long-term market growth.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure strong product knowledge across the Queensland sales team.
• Oversee the presentation and management of the Brisbane showroom and associated assets.
• Support the successful coordination of supply, delivery and installation outcomes for customers.

About You

You are a commercially driven sales leader with a proven ability to develop strategic customer relationships and deliver strong business results. You thrive in a relationship-focused environment and enjoy leading teams to achieve ambitious goals.

To be successful, you will have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, including relationship management with senior decision-makers.
• Experience developing and implementing supply agreements.
• Leadership experience within a sales environment.
• Demonstrated success in business development and account management.
• Strong commercial acumen, financial literacy and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using CRM systems to drive sales performance and efficiencies.
• Strong organisational and decision-making capabilities.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Current Working with Children Card (or the ability to obtain one).

Desirable

• Management and/or business qualifications.
• Experience negotiating large-scale supply agreements.

Brisbane preferred, South East Queensland region considered
