About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll lead all estimating, tendering and commercial activities across the business.

You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing winning tender strategies, managing commercial risk and ensuring accurate, profitable submissions. Equally important, you’ll work closely with operational teams to ensure a seamless transition from project award through to successful delivery.

This role suits a commercially astute leader who enjoys improving processes, developing people and contributing to broader business strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead Saltire’s estimating and tendering function
• Review and assess tender opportunities
• Develop competitive pricing strategies and commercial submissions
• Manage suppliers, subcontractors and consultant pricing networks
• Lead bid reviews, risk assessments and commercial evaluations
• Support contract negotiations and project handovers
• Mentor and develop estimators and project support personnel
• Drive continuous improvement in estimating systems, tools and processes
• Contribute to strategic planning, growth initiatives and operational performance

What We’re Looking For

You may come from a civil construction, utilities, infrastructure or engineering background and have demonstrated experience leading estimating teams and major tenders.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Proven experience in estimating leadership or senior commercial roles
• Strong understanding of civil, water or utility infrastructure projects
• Commercially astute with strong financial and contractual knowledge
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
• The ability to build high-performing teams and improve business processes
• A proactive, growth-focused mindset
