About the role
Family Liaison Officer
Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Liaison Officer with extensive case management experience to join our team for this fixed term position until April 2027. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in client risk assessment and be adept at providing information, assistance, and referrals in complex cases. Experience working with individuals who have experienced grief, trauma, and loss is essential.
As a Family Liaison Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for families and injured workers following a work-related incident or fatality, providing guidance and support during the initial aftermath and throughout the criminal justice process. You will offer trauma-informed, specialist social work services to victims of crime, ensuring they are kept informed and supported after a work-related death. In addition, you will collaborate with investigators, prosecutors, and the business to provide advice, develop policies, and create programs aimed at supporting victims. This role operates state-wide and requires a valid driver’s license, as well as occasional overnight travel to regional areas to attend court and offer continued support to clients.
