The Opportunity:We are seeking an experienced Senior Property and Commercial Lawyer to take a leading role in our property practice and contribute to the firm’s continued growth.The matters vary from day to day, keeping the work interesting and commercially relevant. You will advise clients directly, manage files with autonomy and work closely with our Director, John Gallagher, on complex matters, client relationships and practice development.You will also collaborate with an experienced head conveyancer, junior lawyers, excellent paralegals and our marketing and business development and accounting managers. The team provides practical support so you can focus on high-level legal work and strong client outcomes.
Your Practice will Include:You will advise on a broad range of property, commercial and related matters, including:Purchase and sales of commercial, industrial, and retail propertyRetail, commercial and industrial leasingProperty development and off-the-plan transactionsDue diligence investigationsProperty structuring and titling arrangementsEasements, covenants, and land use issuesProperty-related disputes, including encroachmentsLoans, securities, and mortgagesBody Corporate mattersExperience in general commercial law will be highly regarded, particularly in:Business sales and acquisitionsCommercial advisory workContract drafting and negotiationThe range and complexity of the work will allow you to deepen your technical expertise while developing a strong practice of your own.

About YouYou will ideally bring:Approximately 5–10 years PAE in property and commercial lawExperience gained within an Australian firm, with Queensland-specific knowledge a bonus.Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skillsSound commercial judgment and a practical, solutions-focused approachExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent client service skillsThe ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a teamProfessional maturity, discretion, and reliabilityAn interest in developing client relationships, mentoring junior team members and contributing to the firm’s long-term growth.
