Well Testing Engineer – Oil & Gas Operations

Aztech Well Construction are seeking an experienced Well Testing Engineer to support oil and gas well testing operations. The successful candidate will have strong practical and technical experience in the planning, execution and reporting of well testing activities, with a demonstrated commitment to safe and efficient field operations.

About the role

The Role will be based in Perth, WA.

This is an office based engineering position suited to an experienced well testing professional who is comfortable working in the field as required and taking responsibility for the safe and successful execution of well testing programs.

Competitive remuneration will be offered commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications and well testing experience.

Must have valid Australian Working Rights.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute well testing operations in accordance with approved programs, procedures and client requirements.

• Provide technical oversight of surface well testing equipment and associated well intervention operations.

• Monitor and interpret well test parameters including pressure, temperature, flow rates and fluid characteristics.

• Ensure accurate collection, validation and reporting of operational and well test data.

• Provide technical input to troubleshoot equipment and operational issues during well testing activities.

• Liaise effectively with client representatives, drilling/completions personnel and other service companies.

• Preparation of well management plans for government approvals

• Prepare operational documentation including detailed operational programs and procedures.

• Facilitate risk assessments, HAZOP workshops and other HSE activities.

• Ensure operations comply with company procedures, client requirements and applicable industry standards.

Experience & Qualifications

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience in oil and gas surface well testing engineering and operations.

• Strong knowledge of well testing equipment, including separators, choke manifolds, heaters, surge tanks, burners/flare systems, pressure control equipment and associated instrumentation.

• Experience with oil wells, high rate gas wells and the safe handling of hydrocarbons.

• Sound understanding of well test data acquisition and interpretation.

• Competent on related downhole intervention operations and equipment

• Strong troubleshooting and operational decision-making skills.

• A thorough understanding of HSE requirements associated with well testing and pressure-containing equipment.

• Relevant engineering qualifications.

• Experience in onshore well testing advantageous.

• Must have valid Australian Working Rights.
