What you'll be doing
The NSW CICADA Centre provides Care and Intervention for Children and Adolescents affected by Drugs and Alcohol. The centre has three clinical streams; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) clinic, Family Services and Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Service.
The primary focus of the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Senior Social Worker is to provide a comprehensive and specialist social work service to children, young people, parents/carers and families who present to the FASD Service. This includes comprehensive psychosocial assessments, specialist counselling, group work, psychoeducation and advocacy. The social worker works as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
The senior social worker plays a key role in service development and continuous quality improvement to ensure clinical needs of children and their families are met. The position leads the development and provision of education programs for social workers and other health professionals, both within SCHN and externally. Additionally, the senior social worker provides expert consultation within their specialisation to key stakeholders.
