Discovery Centre Volunteer

It is a very exciting time at The Kids Research Institute Australia as we continue to evolve from what began in the 1980’s as a vision to create a world-class child health research hub. We have recently changed our name to The Kids Research Institute Australia (formerly known as Telethon Kids Institute) and continue to achieve our shared vision of happy, healthy kids!

The Opportunity

At The Kids, volunteers are vital to our mission, collaborating closely with our researchers and community to positively impact the lives of children, young people and their families.

• As a Discovery Centre Volunteer you will assist the Welcome Crew & Education and Outreach Team to operate The Kids Discovery Centre and our associated programs and activities:
• Offering outstanding customer service and operational support for visitors engaging with the interactive games in the Discovery Centre.
• Collaborating with the Welcome Crew and Education and Outreach Team to implement The Kids schools’ program, helping students with hands-on activities.

Conducting science activities on the Discovery Centre trolley for patients at Perth Children’s Hospital.

• Australian Passport or confirmation of Australian work rights such as citizenship or a valid visa permitting volunteer work OR driver's licence and birth certificate. 
• Working with Children Check or a copy of the receipt.
