Senior Hazardous Materials & Occupational Hygiene Consultant

Helia is a specialist environmental, occupational hygiene and safety consultancy with a growing presence in South Australia. We are looking for an experienced consultant to be the senior technical anchor for our Adelaide team.
This is a role with genuine influence. You will shape the quality of our work, guide less experienced consultants, and take on the interesting, complex hazardous materials and occupational hygiene projects that need a steady, senior hand. If you want your technical expertise to be visible and valued rather than lost in a large team, this is worth a conversation.
What you would be doingLeading complex hazardous materials and occupational hygiene projects, including surveys, air monitoring, clearance inspections and exposure assessments.Acting as the senior technical reviewer for the Adelaide team, lifting the quality and consistency of our reporting.Coordinating responsive project work and giving clients advice they can rely on.Mentoring and supporting consultants, without the administrative load of formal people management.
What we are looking forAround six or more years in hazardous materials, asbestos and occupational hygiene consulting or industry.A background in occupational hygiene, environmental science, science or engineering.A SafeWork SA Licensed Asbestos Assessor licence, or the eligibility and interest to obtain one, is a real advantage.Strong technical judgement, clear writing, and the confidence to deal directly with clients.
